Montils Municipal Elections: "I'm hungry to continue serving," admits Victor Nguewoua

Mayor of Montils since 2020, Victor Nguewoua says he's ready to start a new term, in the municipal elections of March 2026. "I'm fortunate to be very well supported by the deputies, technical and administrative staff. We have a relationship of trust, I can count on them and they can count on me. With Maryse Payet, we form a top-notch duo." The elected official specifies that three of the four deputies are leaving, as well as nine councilors. "A solid executive," he concludes.
In 2020, for his first term, a group of residents and outgoing elected officials approached him, "because he was very involved in the town, in karate, the APE, the festival committee." He thought about it for three months before accepting: "We had to make concessions. I said OK, provided I was well supported, but the beginning of the term was difficult with Covid."
All of the projects announced in 2020 have been completed. Not completely for Averton, but other investments have been finalized. The City Stadium, which creates an intergenerational connection with the pétanque court, the end of water infiltration in the church, a housing development in which only a third of the plots remain for sale, the development of photovoltaic systems, the indoor and outdoor cemetery, and the digitization of pitches.
Currently, work is underway at the school in agreement with the DASEN and the CDA, for a first phase of renovation, while two doctors and a nurse are working with the health commission to open a MSP (Multi-professional Health Center). Since July 2024, Montils has been in the FRR (France Ruralities Revitalization) zone, which offers tax exemptions to businesses.
Victor Nguewoua says: "I'm more motivated than ever. It's a daily challenge, but it's in my DNA as a karateka and a firefighter." He also talks about the social aspect, the youth group, the council of elders, opening up committees to residents, and above all, "listening." He hopes for the beautification of the town center. "Being mayor is very restrictive, but it's rewarding. I'm hungry to continue serving," he says.
